ISO Certifications

 


Continental Carbon Company's three manufacturing plants are registered to ISO:9001:2000 using Quality Systems Registrars, Inc. as the registrar. The Phenix City, AL plant has been continuously registered since December 1994. The Sunray, TX plant has maintained their registration uninterrupted since January 1995. The Ponca City, OK plant has been registered since 1995.

The plants are compliant to the QS-9000 standard. Activities are currently underway to make the transition from QS-9000 to ISO TS 16949 compliance.

Additionally, all three of the Company’s plants are scheduled to be ISO 14001 certified by the end of 2008. ISO 14001 is the international standard for Environmental Management System.

  • Complying with accepted environmental practices, including the commitment to meet or exceed the letter and spirit of applicable laws, regulations, and other requirements.
  • Proactively identifying and managing Environmental, Health, and Safety risks, our processes, and people to reduce the Environmental, Health, and Safety impacts associated with our work.
  • Setting and reviewing Environmental, Health, and Safety objectives and targets to drive continual improvements in our programs and performance.
  • Educating and engaging employees (and other internal stakeholders) in Environmental, Health, and Safety process activities that maximize ownership and drive performance improvement.
  • Preventing pollution, minimizing wastes, and enhancing safety throughout company operations.
  • Monitoring our Environmental, Health, and Safety performance and communicating results to internal stakeholders.
  • Making this Environmental, Health, and Safety policy available to all interested parties, including the public.
