ISO Certification Article
The Sunray, Texas plant is registered to the ISO 9001:2000 standard, having passed their transition audit on November 6-8, 2002, more than a year ahead of the mandated December 14, 2003 deadline. Sunray has been an ISO 9000 registered plant since January 3, 1995.

On July 14, 2004, Local 4-487 of the Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical and Energy Workers International Union (PACE), representing production and maintenance workers at the Sunray Plant, and Continental Carbon Company reached agreement on a new six-year agreement expiring August 1, 2010. Terms of the agreement include wage adjustments and modifications to the short-term disability provision of the contract.
Sunray Laboratory Group
The Plant Laboratory hourly-rated employees at Continental Carbon Company's Sunray Plant are represented by the Paper, Allied-Industrial, Chemical & Energy Workers International Union, Local 4-0487. The current Agreement is effective Oct 1, 2003 thru Sept 30, 2008.
Environmental
Continental Carbon Company is an active member of the International Carbon Black Association (ICBA). One of the major purposes of the association is to assist its member companies in understanding and complying with health, safety and environmental matters related to the carbon black industry.
