Quality Improvement Coordinator

Department: Houston Technology Center
Reports To: Director, Quality Systems
Location: Houston, Texas.

MAIN FUNCTION
  •  Maintain zero recordable safety/environmental incidents.
  •  Provide support to, Production, Quality and Technical Service/Marketing.
  •  Manage the daily coordination of Quality Improvement initiatives and activities.
  •  Oversee the HTC ISO9001 Quality Management System.
  •  Coordinate the ISO9001 Quality System at the Plant Locations.
  •  Maintain the Quality Management System.
  •  Perform laboratory analysis (~25%).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  •  Participate/Lead ISO9001 Internal Audits at all CCC locations.
  •  Perform role of Corporate Quality Management Representative at QSR ISO 9001
  •  Support Plant Environmental Management Representatives at QSR ISO 14001
  •  Lead/Conduct annual Generic Contract audits.
  •  Create and distribute audit reports
  •  Coordinate HTC efforts with Tech Service on resolution of customer complaint
  •  Train Plant Personnel on Quality related topics (AX, Qualtrax, ISO, etc.).
  •  Maintain Qualtrax system.
  •  Maintain AX Quality system (specifications).
  •  Perform assigned analysis for carbon black samples utilizing CCC’s Standard Test Methods.
  •  Maintain CCC Standard Test Methods and compare against ASTM methods.
  •  Become competent with new analytical instrumentation.
  •  Participate in the testing of the Laboratory Proficiency Rating Service (LPRS) and Monthly Grade Cross-checks (MGCC).
  •  Assist in preparing reports (LPRS, MGCC, ISO, WO, etc.).
  •  Complete monthly safety classes, and attend staff meetings and technical seminars.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  •  B.S. in Chemistry or related field required.
  •  Instrumental Analysis experience required.
  •  Certified Lead Auditor, ISO9001 required.
  •  Lead Auditor, ISO14001 preferred.
  •  Qualtrax document editing experience preferred.
